Woman robbed of wedding ring worth R450 000

A woman was robbed of her wedding ring by three armed men in Bredell on Thursday afternoon.

The ring is worth about R450 000.

Kempton Police spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, said the incident occurred at about 1.39pm at the woman’s home on 2nd Avenue. The men approached the woman while she was outside in her yard.

“The victim was held up at gunpoint by three armed men,” Mtshali confirmed. The thieves were travelling in a black Audi SUV.

No arrests have been made yet and police request anyone with information to contact Det W/O Poley on 011-393-8600 or 08600-10111. Alternatively, send an SMS to the crime line number 32211.
