Water pours in at Kempton SPCA after appeal
The SPCA will be available to take water until 7pm tonight
Thanks to the generosity of residents Kempton Park SPCA now has enough water for two days.
Express earlier this afternoon published a plea for residents to assist as the SPCA had been without water since 6am.
Clr Simon Lapping and his wife spent most of the afternoon assisting those who arrived to donate water.

“I’m humbled and overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our community! Thank you so much for taking the time and making the effort to assist in water collection for the animals who are currently being cared for by the SPCA in Kempton Park.
“When I arrived, the tanks that hold rain water were dry. It did not take long to start filling up. When I left they had 2000 litres in the tank and another 1000 litres in bottles, enough for two days,” Lapping told Express late this afternoon.

“The community from far and wide came , even from Bredell. It really showed what a difference it can make where it counts when we stand together and give what we can. Thank you once again to everyone, from children to an 82-year-old woman. Your spirit and generosity are appreciated.
“Please keep on donating, especially water in containers. The SPCA will be available to take water until 7pm tonight. I will check tomorrow on the status.”
