Man hands himself over after fatal shooting

A man hands himself over to police for a murder he committed.

A 39-year-old man from Sethokga hostel was arrested on August 13 for murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said it was alleged by the brother of the deceased that on August 13 at about 10.30pm his brother and the suspect had argument.

The two started fighting.

“While they were fighting the suspect produced a firearm and shot his brother in the upper body.

“The suspect also shot two other people who were with them,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

The two men sustained gunshot wounds to their lower bodies.

“They were taken to hospital and admitted.

“His brother was certified dead at the scene and the suspect ran away.”

The suspect handed himself over on Saturday, August 13 at Tembisa police station.

He was immediately detained for murder and two counts of attempted murder.

He will soon appear before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
