Men arrested for dagga possession

Four man arrested for dagga in Tembisa.

Ekurhuleni North Cluster arrested a Tembisa man for dealing in dagga on August 25.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said police who were on operation duties found the 35-year-old man standing next to a black bucket.

“On seeing the police the man tried to move away from the bucket. The alert members already noticed that he was intending to run away. He was stopped,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

“When police searched the bucket they found 109 packets of dagga. The man admitted to selling dagga.”

In another case SAPS Flying Squad members who were on patrol at Mqantsa section received information about a man who was in possession of dagga.

They immediately went to the address.

“They found the man and upon searching his room they found 56 packets of dagga .

“The 29-year-old suspect was arrested and detained in a Tembisa police cell,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

At Enxiweni section police were doing stop-and-search operations.

They stopped a 20-year-old man and whilst searching him they did not find anything on his person. But when he was told to open his mouth, police were surprised to see a small plastic bag in it, said Capt Ralidzhivha.

“When he took out the plastic bag they noticed that inside the bag was dagga. The dagga weighed 1.9 grams”.

He said another 19-year-old man was found walking the streets at Oakmoor extension 7.

“He was found to be in possession of four packets of dagga.”

“The arrested suspects will soon appear before the magistrate at Tembisa court,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
