Sewing school turns 20
The aim and purpose at Thusanang is to provide training for unemployed and unskilled women
THUSANANG Sewing School celebrated its 20th anniversary on August 9.
The school is an upliftment outreach ministry of the Kempton Park Methodist Church. They combined the celebrations with the graduation of their latest students.
Being a women’s ministry and on Woman’s Day, the event was very special.
The Rev Sam and Julie Griffiths, who started this ministry in 1996, in the basement of the church, attended the celebrations, as did Bishop Jonathan Anderson.
The Rev Simphiwe Mthembu is now the new minister of the church.
The aim and purpose at Thusanang is to provide training for unemployed and unskilled women in the community, to enable them to become self-sufficient.
