A suspected drug laboratory was discovered at a house on Geelhout Street, in Birchleigh, on August 28.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesman for the Norkem Park SAPS, said the dog unit from Germiston received a tip-off about the house.
Police arrived at the premises at about 8pm.
The owner, a 24-year-old man, was arrested in possession of a brownish substance, suspected to be nyaope, after police were given permission to search the house.
