Lace-makers add a dainty touch to fête

The annual Thornhill Manor fête will have plenty to keep visitors of all ages busy

DYNAMITE Lace will display their exquisite work at Thornhill Manor’s annual family fun day and fête on Saturday, October 1.

The women gather at the retirement village’s community centre on three Saturdays of each month to hone their craft.

Although their items will not be on sale at the fête, members of the club hope to create awareness of this delightful hobby.

Dynamite Lace is open to everyone, not just Rand Aid residents, and beginners are welcome.

The annual Thornhill Manor fête will have plenty to keep visitors of all ages busy, with stalls offering unique items rather than mass imported goods; food stalls; and a beer and tea garden.

It will run from 9am to 1pm, although the lace women will pack away their goods at noon.

Thornhill Manor is situated at 158 Westlake Drive, Lakeside, in Modderfontein.
