Family Fitness attempts to break record

Their target was to have 3 000 people participating

FAMILY Fitness Centre attempted to set a South African record for the most participants taking part in an aerobics class last week Saturday.

“The day was not as successful as we planned and unfortunately we didn’t break the record but we want to say thank you to the people who came,” said Audrey Langenegger, event co-ordinator.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for Little Eden to buy a new keyboard. They raised a little over R1 000.

Their target was to have 3 000 people participating in the day but only 37 members, young and old, participated in the aerobics class.

The first 30 minutes was led by trainer Petro Rheeder and the second 30 minutes by Zonika Brown.

Random spot prizes was also won by the participants and DJ Gordon Rodway provided all the latest tunes.

“We would really love to make this a yearly event and we hope that more people will participate every year so that we can break that record,” said Cecille Niemann, employee at Family Fitness Centre.
