Sipho “Tower” Ndlovu is set to rule the Tembisa soccer scene.
The 20-year-old believes he is a rising Tembisa soccer star that many soccer fanatics must look out for.
This young lad has been honing his skill since he was only seven years old.
Today Sipho has played for a number of teams on dusty grounds.
Mr Ndlovu said at first he was coerced into taking part in the sport.
“When I was seven my coach would come to my house and fetch me for the gym even though he knew I didn’t want to go. He was basically forcing me,” he said.
He said today he is grateful for what the coach did because his skill has developed to an extent that many soccer fans appreciate what he does.
He said his fans can’t wait to see him play when he gets on the pitch.
“I will continue working hard and doing my best in entertaining them. Young soccer players must respect their coach and teammates to succeed in the soccer business,” said Sipho.
“The sport has carved me into a disciplined soccer player and it has kept me away from mischief. I want to make a career out of it,” said Sipho.
He boasts skills that will see him pushing hard to play in the professional side.
He feels Premier Soccer League is just a stone’s throw away and he is training hard to realise his dream.
“I once tried out for a professional team but I had an ankle injury that affected my performance but I haven’t given up,” he said.
The greatest concern of this young man is the Ekurhuleni Municipality’s lack of support when it comes the use of sporting facilities.
“Young people are expected to pay R570 to use the sports grounds. Where will they get it? This is discouraging young people from taking part in sport,” he said.
Sipho hopes that one day he will contribute to the development of the sport by providing financial support.
He urges young people to take any sporting code serious and excel to the best of their ability.
