Snazzy-B set on being the best

Snazzy-B understands Tembisa like the back of his hand and that reflects in his music content.

Bulelani “Snazzy-B” Xokiso is the next best rap talent to come out of Tembisa.

Snazzy-B understands Tembisa like the back of his hand and that reflects in his music content.

He said his hip-hop influence comes from his brother who used to listen to a lot of hip-hop.

After completing his grade 12 Snazzy-B’s mind was set on triumph in the music scene.

“My motto is – work hard every day and never miss a minute,” said Snazzy-B.

The young lad worked hard in honing his skill since he started out.

Snazzy-B progressed to a point where his peers who liked his work enlisted him to be a ghost writer in their own projects.

“I never went to school for music. My mother was a traditional healer and music was always in our family because when in trance, sangomas often beat drums and sing,” he said.

This rapper always drummed for them, not knowing he was learning rhythms which are crucial elements of music.

“That was the only music school for me.

“I picked up a microphone at the age of 10 and I performed whenever I got a chance.”

“I have a passion for music. I believe I can make music and I want to contribute to the music industry,” said Snazzy-B.

He started out writing his music content in vernacular in ensuring that he connects with Kasi people.

He said he wanted to make music about their stories so that they can identify with his art.

“I am working on a ‘mixtape’ where I will feature various rap artists like Menti and Parley,” he said.

Snazzy-B’s achievement was a performance at an event called Cuff Your Chick where he opened the stage for acts like Big Star Johnson and Priddy Ugly.

“My songs have been played on a number of radio stations and that sparked a huge following and I started getting my regular bookings as a result of these airplays,” he said.

Snazzy-B is planning to stage his own music concert to grow his fan base.

He said in future he wants to see himself getting international gigs and owning his record label.
