Hijacker chased by police crashes into motorist in Wendywood

The suspected hijacker was transported to hospital under police guard

A hijacked car being chased by police and security officers has crashed into a private vehicle in Wendywood, north of Johannesburg this morning.

The accident happened on the corner of Bowling and Luderick streets, Max Cohen, spokesman for Emer-G-Med, said.

“It’s believed the South African Police Services as well a private security company were chasing a hijacked vehicle when it T-boned a civilian’s vehicle at high-speed. Emer-G-Med paramedics arrived on the scene minutes later to find two members of the public, as well as the suspect, had been injured. The patients were treated on the scene before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further assessment,” Cohen said.

The suspected hijacker was transported by another private ambulance service under police guard.
