Two teens arrested for robbing twins

The teens robbed a set of girl twins of a cellphone

TWO 18-year-old teenagers were arrested on Monday for robbing twin girls of a cellphone valued at R1 600.

According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, the two were arrested for a robbery on Fanie de Klerk Street in Norkem Park at 1.30pm.

“It is alleged that the twin sisters were walking along the street when they were approached by two youngsters who threatened them with a sharp object, demanding their cellphones,” explained Molokomme.

Fearing for their lives, the sisters handed over their cellphone to the suspects.

“Fortunately, a sector vehicle was around the corner and members noticed the incident and reacted quickly in making the arrest.”

The cellphone was later handed to the lawful owner.

On the same day Norkem park SAPS also arrested a person for shoplifting, one for assault, one for fraud and one for theft.
