A 54-year-old man is being held in Kempton Park police cells after he was arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting his nine-year-old daughter.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, members of the family violence, child protection and sexual offenses unit based in Tembisa arrested the man at his Pomona residence on Tuesday morning around 11.15am.
The unit had been investigating the matter since July after the alleged victim’s mother became suspicious. The child apparently told her mother her father had been sexually molesting her at his residence in Pomona during her visits.
“No bail has been set yet and the accused will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court within 48 hours. He will face charges of sexual assault,” said Mtshali.
