THE 54-year-old man who was arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting his nine-year-old daughter will again appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The accused’s bail application was postponed on September 28.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, members of the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit based in Tembisa arrested the man at his Pomona residence on September 27, at around 11.15am.
The unit had been investigating the matter since July, after the alleged victim’s mother became suspicious. The child apparently told her mother her father had been sexually molesting her at his residence in Pomona during her visits.
“He will face charges of sexual assault,” said Mtshali.
