What an impact church has had on many

Mogomotsi Setsetse, a deacon at Impact Life Church and media operations student at Boston Media House, has written this piece about Impact Life Church in Birchleigh North.
“Our Church turned eight years old on November 20. As a gift to the church, I chose to write a piece on the impact the church has had on the neighbouring community and how some members have chosen to dedicate their time to assisting in community outreach activities.”
Festivities on the day included different musical items, as well as a Christmas play, dance and song from the children’s church.

IMPACT Life Church is a community church located in Birchleigh North ext 3 at the corner of Pongolariver and Malvina streets.
The church may be few in numbers but it makes a large contribution to the community. The head pastor, Mike McClure, has opened the doors for the church members to aid the community and it seems its generosity has trickled down to the congregation.
Impact Life Church is currently providing a holistic approach to maintaining the congregation’s needs. Besides the Sunday sermon, you might find church members attending a finance management class or Bible study, or you might see locals collecting their weekly loaf of bread on a Sunday.
In addition to that, the church has been the venue for community policing forum meetings. Like a father, Past Mike has opened his heart to members of the church, old and young, to see the church as their spiritual home.
Earlier this year Lehlohonolo Molefe, a qualified personal trainer with vast experience in coaching and personal training, approached the pastor about holding yoga classes at the church twice a week.
Past Mike gave him his blessing and Lehlohonolo ran these classes free of charge for eight months while he was jobless. Although his attempts to obtain work didn’t work out, he kept holding these sessions every week like clockwork.
Like the saying goes, “When God closes a door he opens a window.”
Lehlohonolo’s dream of starting his own business is slowly becoming a reality.
He managed to get his business started, which he named Glorious Fitness. Since getting started, he managed to get a team of experts on board.
The team features a physiotherapist, massage therapist, personal trainer, sports psychologist and a sports manager. This group of young people are a great example that the youth of today can follow.
While unemployment has plagued our country, it’s nice to see the entrepreneurial spirit being sparked in the leaders of tomorrow. While the entrepreneurial spirit has come to life in young Mr Molefe’s life, it is nice to see that he hasn’t lost his charitable heart.
He coaches an U/12 football side. The kids are from the community of Birchleigh North. They play non-league football in Birch Acres and Norkem Park.
Most of the kids he coaches have dreams of making it to the Bafana Bafana squad one day. Some even believe they will play for Barcelona FC one day.
Making an impact where it counts is the drive behind Impact Life Church. The Holy Spirit has moved through the congregation and we have seen a lot of people’s lives being changed in our community.
Nolo’s testimony is an indication that where government and the private sector may have failed to reach. It is up to the House of the Lord to intervene. It is not by our might or understanding that we find our way to success in life.
We just have to be patient and wait upon the move of the Lord. Like we have seen above, God’s move is all too mighty.
