Recycling plastic puts food in SPCA dogs’ bellies

Kempton Park SPCA received a wonderful donation of dog food worth R3 200 from Birch Acres Dog Training Club.

The funds to buy the pet food were raised through money collected from recycling.

“Edeltrut Hullen and Valerie Riekert from the club collected various items of plastic to be recycled and the money received from this was saved until they had enough to purchase the food. They fulfilled two good deeds in one for the community,” the SPCA said.

The money was collected during 2015.

“We at the SPCA are so grateful for initiatives such as this, and it inspires us to learn when people of the community participate so actively. We thank Birch Acres Dog Training Club, especially Edeltrut and Valerie, for keeping their hearts on the SPCA.”
