Tswelopele children spend a day with Santa Claus

Tembisa children were privileged to spend a day with Santa Claus on December 10.

Mega Mart Shopping Centre was abuzz with children who were excited to see Father Christmas.

The centre manager Mr Andreas Mathe said organising the Christmas party for surrounding community members is a way of giving back to their customers.

“Children got to take photos with Santa Claus and received presents and other goodies,” said Mr Mathe.

He said the Christmas party is the first of its kind organised by management of Mega Mart Shopping Centre.

“Children from the surrounding townships usually see Santa on TV and in pictures in magazines,” said Mr Mathe.

He said the party was meant to expose the children to the broader culture of Christmas celebrations.

“We are happy that many children came out to enjoy the occasion.

“We want to thank parents for trusting us with the safety of their children,” said Mr Mathe.

He said they are looking forward to running more events for the community. The centre implores the community to support these initiatives, he added

Mr Mathe said the centre will be hosting another big event that will present different art forms on December 16.

“We will have a raffle where shoppers will stand to win themselves prizes and there will be a battle of DJs,” said Mr Mathe.
