Two children, adult burn to death in N3 accident

Three people, including two minors, have been declared dead at the scene of a fatal accident on the N3 in Harrismith this morning shortly before 8am.

The collision involved a truck and vehicle, Athlenda Mathe, spokesman for Netcare 911 said.

“Netcare 911 paramedics worked alongside other services on scene. When paramedics arrived, they found that both the truck and vehicle had burst into flames. Reports from the scene indicate the truck driver managed to jump out of the truck before it burst into flames,.” Mathe said.

Sadly, an adult and two children that were trapped inside the vehicle burnt to death. The road had been closed and motorists were advised to use alternative routes.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
