Two taxi accidents this morning leave 28 injured, one dead
The accidents occurred within two hours of each other
AT least 28 people were injured and one was killed, in two serious taxi accidents on Monday morning.
Emer-G-Med responded to both accidents, one at 6am and the other two hours later.
One person was killed and 15 others injured, when a taxi rear-ended another vehicle on the N1 south at Allandale Road, around 6am this morning (09 January).
Emer-G-Med responded to reports of another serious taxi accident on the corner of the R55 and Allandale Road, just before 8am.
It’s believed the taxi driver skipped a red traffic light, colliding with another vehicle in the intersection – leaving 12 people with injuries, ranging from minor to serious. Three patients sustained serious injuries that required Advanced Life Support intervention.
The patients were assessed and treated at the scene, before being transported to various nearby hospitals.
