Needy families receive food parcels

During the festive season, the organisation hosted a Christmas party for several elderly residents and orphans of Tembisa and Ivory Park.

Eradicating poverty in Tembisa and Ivory Park and making sure members of the community are not deprived of human dignity is the vision of the Life 4 U Foundation project.

During the festive season, the organisation hosted a Christmas party for several elderly residents and orphans of Tembisa and Ivory Park.

According to the project manager and founder, Mr Simon Molekwa, they wanted to provide well-balanced and packaged food parcels that can last up to a month for families, so that they could cook for their loved ones during the festive season.

“At times the festive season becomes boring as most underprivileged families do not have money to spend on meals, groceries or even clothes, not to mention when school reopens. Some families end up locking themselves in their houses or rooms to avoid seeing other people enjoying the festive season. We, at Life 4 You Foundation, have decided to run an annual event to donate Christmas food parcels for the families,” said Mr Molekwa.

Mr Molekwa encouraged the residents with the Word of God and they had time to thank and worship the Lord for the special day.

Lunch was also served for the beneficiaries.

Life 4 U Foundation thanked their sponsors and partners who, from the beginning of the year, supported the initiative to provide food parcels to the deserving community members.

The organisation’s 2017 primary mandate is to continue providing food parcels to needy community members four times a year and to also implement a seven day operation feeding scheme that will make sure that no one in their communities sleeps with an empty stomach.

The Life 4 U Foundation is based in Moriting Section and residents willing to support the project can contact them on 079 169 3705 or 079 596 9099.
