Birch Acres boy uses his passion to reach out to community
THE ambitious young man's undeniable talent has won him countless titles before
TUMISI Mokhatla recently won Overall Model of the Year for 2016.
The 11-year-old Birch Acres boy beat 92 other students and smiled his way to come out tops at Edleen’s Model Manifest Kempton Park.
Mokhatla, a learner at Edenvale’s Eastleigh Primary School, says his drive is his family. He absolutely loves modelling and one day his dream is to become a medical doctor.
Not only does he model and work hard at school, but Mokhatla is also involved in community projects such as ELDAC, an organisation that works against drugs and alcohol abuse, where he speaks to and motivates his peers to stay away from these dangerous substances.
His motto in life comes from the late former president of South Africa and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela, who said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
The ambitious young man joined the Edleen modelling school in November 2015.
