NIKITA Swartz, a Grade 2 learner at Curro Serengeti, qualified as a national finalist for Miss Junior SA 2017 when she was crowned Miss Junior Queen Africa in June last year at the Protea Hotel OR Tambo.
Nikita won the Junior Queen Africa Overall title with the highest scores out of all contestants aged 3 to 12 years old in interview, ramp and photogenic.
In her year of reign, Nikita has become part of an amazing team called PITT Boxes, helping families in need by collecting food, clothing and other essentials for them.
She held a small pageant in December to raise funds for a beautiful little girl, Monja van Wyk, who has leukaemia. She was able to raise R6 626 to go towards any needs that Monja might have.
In November she was invited to the Kalahari Kuierfees in Upington in the Northen Cape as a VIP and to do the crowning for their Miss Kalahari Kuierfees, as well as the Pick n Pay Upington baby and toddler competition.
She also went to the Medicross Hospital in the Northern Cape to hand out cupcakes to staff and sick children to brighten their day.
Nikita was given the opportunity, as well, to collect non-perishable foods for Child Welfare and donated them to Tembisa Child Welfare.
At the moment Nikita is concentrating on her charity work for the title Miss Junior SA 2017 by helping to keep a child in school. The pageant will be held from April 4-8.
