IT was a celebration of love at Twinkle Twinkle Day Care on Park Street in Kempton Park on Valentine’s Day.
The kids, who dressed in bright red colours and sparkling white dresses and shirts, either had matching red roses or red balloons with white spots, and were all in happy moods.
There was an atmosphere of festivity at the day care, with cakes, food, party packs and juices for the children. One could not help but know that there was something in the offing.
According to the principal, Mercy Mpofu, Valentine’s Day is a day to show love to the people around you and to remember those you care for in a very special way.
In this tradition, she said, Valentine’s Day was significant because it was a day to renew your vow to love and care for children left in their care.
