SAPS gives presents to children

SAPS gives to the needy.

The Tshepang Care Centre is grateful for the gifts they received from the SAPS.

Centre owner Ms Sarah Sibiya said members of the SAPS surprised her at a time when children from the orphanage needed love and care.

“We were happy and the children were excited about the presents. I know it is overdue but I want to thank the SAPS,” said Ms Sibiya.

Captain Neldah Sekgobela said the Tembisa South SAPS Social Crime Prevention’s Sergeant Nonjabulo Mogale and Youth Desk members, together with New Day Church based in Edenvale, visited Siyasigabisa Orphanage Home in Sivannah Section and Tshepang Orphanage home in Vusimusi during December.

“The purpose was to give some gifts to the orphans and to pamper them,” said Captain Sekgobela.

She said 236 children from one to 18 years old benefited from the gifts.

“The gifts received included educational material such as books, rulers, pencils, toiletries, clothes and toys.”

Captain Sekgobela said the children were also pampered with snacks and soft drinks.

“The children were addressed about drug abuse, bullying, teenage pregnancy, theft, peer pressure and child abuse.”
