Help NPO help needy kids

The organisation will be hosting its third annual Miss Fantasy to be held at Ivory Park Community Hall on February 25.

In the densely populated township of Ivory Park three friends, Mr Lehlogonolo Dibakoane (25), Mr Kgabo Semenya (26) and Mr Thapelo Semenya (24), have taken up fundraising.

Through Tswelelane Development, which is a non-profit organisation based in Ivory Park, they aim to change the lives of the community members, especially the vulnerable and underprivileged like the disabled, orphans and abused children.

“One thing every NPO can agree on is that it is difficult to find sponsors and to raise funds. What we are doing is to align the need for funds with the needs of the youth of Ivory Park, which is entertainment – this saw the birth of the annual Miss Fantasy pageant.

“Every year Tswelelane Development hosts a fundraising beauty pageant at Ivory Park Community Hall that is aimed at raising funds to help buy school uniforms and shoes for the orphans and vulnerable children in the community,” said the project’s managing director, Mr Dibakoane.

The organisation will be hosting its third annual Miss Fantasy event at Ivory Park Community Hall on February 25.

“Miss Fantasy is hosted annually in February and it attracts a lot of people from the community and creates a good platform for the members to engage with the community and to educate teens about the importance of charity work,” said Mr Dibakoane.

“We understand that it’s not easy to encourage people to get involved in charity work; however, we know that with events like Miss Fantasy where people come to have fun, it becomes easy for us to educate them about charity work and encourage them to get involved,” he said.
