Heita, Tembisa!

The College Workers Union Of South Africa releases its struggle songs album.

The College Workers Union of South Africa will launch its new struggle songs album on February 25.

The commissioned artist Mr Steven “Art Prophet” Khunou said lecturers from all over Gauteng will be painting Tembisa green with their uniforms at the launch of the album.

“The album consists of eight tracks and it is titled ‘Heita’ which means greetings,” said Art Prophet.

“I was born and raised in Tembisa and I take pride in putting the township on the map.”

“Tembisa has a great history of revolutionary artists and my mandate was to pick up their baton and continue to sing revolutionary songs.”

Art Prophet said all the songs address the unappealing working conditions of lecturers in community colleges, in order to enlighten the community about the challenges.

The album is sung and produced by Art Prophet working in conjunction with the leadership comprising Modikwe Seitlhamo, Smartoloty, Thulane Ndlovhu, Nonkululeko, Public Commentators, Bongani and Tiyane.

The event will be hosted at Zodwa Mofokeng Community Centre and it will be attended by all branches and regional committees, as well as the provincial committee and national executive.

The College Workers Union Of South Africa’s President Thabang Modimane and Deputy President Lindiwe Raseroka will also grace the occasion.
