Tip-off about alleged drug dealer leads to nyaope bust in Glen Marais

The drugs are believed to have been manufactured at a complex apartment as a measuring scale was also found there

FOUR alleged drug dealers, including a woman, have been arrested in Glen Marais following a tip-off to Benoni Flying Squad.

Acting upon the information received, police officials on Tuesday afternoon uncovered a drug manufacturing lab at a complex on Dann Road, Kempton SAPS spokesperson Capt Jethro Mtshali told EXPRESS.

“At about 2pm, members of the flying squad received a tip-off about a maroon Toyota Rav 4 driven by a woman alleged to be selling and distributing drugs around Kempton Park,” Mtshali explained.

“While patrolling the area the members spotted the vehicle on Monument Road and pulled the woman over. Upon searching the car they found an undisclosed amount of money which the woman could not explain where and how she acquired it.”

Subsequent interrogation led the cops to a complex on Dann Road where they found three men inside an apartment with a large quantity of drugs, believed to be nyaope.

The drugs are believed to have been manufactured there as a measuring scale was also found.

The South African woman (32) and the three Nigerian men, aged 25, 42 and 43, were taken into custody on charges of drug dealing.

“The Ekurhuleni North Rand cluster commander, Maj Gen Vincent Leshabane, commended the members for their sterling work in fighting the escalation of drugs in the area,” Mtshali concluded.
