Four pianists will represent SA in Los Angeles

They won several medals at the SA Championships of Performing Arts

FOUR pianists of Stage Bright Musicians won several medals at the recent South African Championships of Performing Arts at Nasrec.

Two are from the Kempton Park studio and two from the Sandton studio.

They represented Gauteng and won medals for piano.

Lisa Minnaar, a Grade two learner from Van Riebeeck Park Primary School, won two silver and a bronze medal.

Her mother, Chantie Minnaar, who is all three students’ teacher, won four gold medals.

Naudé du Plessis, a Grade one learner from Crawford Preparatory (Lonehill), won three silver medals.

His brother, Malan du Plessis, bagged three gold medals.

Malan also won the trophy award for the best pianist in the category five to 15 years, while Chantie won the trophy award for the best pianist in the category 16 to adults.

Chantie further received the Grand Champion Award for the best female instrumentalist at the event.

Malan and Chantie also performed with great success at the showcase.

All four were selected for Team South Africa at the grand showcase on April 8 and will represent South Africa at the World Championships of Performing Arts from June 26 to July 12 in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
