Jeugland 1980 matric class reunites for charity
The former classmates collected money to donate to MES.
THE matric class of 1980 from Hoërskool Jeugland reunited for charity and to catch up with those living overseas, over breakfast in the Kempton Park CBD on June 24.
The group, which normally meets every month and involves themselves in charity work, believes June’s reunion was a special one as they had the opportunity to sit and talk to former schoolmates who have built careers on other continents.
“We are very proud that this June we had Sarie Lagouit from Abu Dhabi and Mathilda Van Dyk from London. We used the day to raise some funds to try and help Mould Empower Serve (MES) with its mission to empower people holistically to live independent, sustainable and meaningful lives,” Jeanne Fryer explained.
Aloma Swanepoel, the resource developer for the MES Kempton Park branch, and Pastor Elzabe Lorenzen were invited to tell the MES story to the former schoolmates, who plan to continue doing charity work and giving to those who are in need.
“I would like to thank all the women who were there and the ones who could not make it due to other commitments,” she added.
The following ladies attended the reunion: Andrea O’Neill, Antoinette Manelis, Cathy Moyes, Cecile Olckers, Cerilia Oelofse, Elzabe Lorenzen, Etricia van Zyl, Gerty Ralph, Jeanne Fryer, Linda Marx, Lorette Pretorius, Mathilda Van Dyk, Rochelle Janse Van Rensburg, Rina Bester, Ronel Venter, Sarie Lagouit, Shelley-Ann Verster and Sonet Boyter.
