Pedestrian in his 60s killed on Modderfontein Road

A man, believed to be in his 60s, was killed on Tuesday afternoon when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on Modderfontein Road.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the body of the man lying on the left-hand side of the road, Russel Meiring of ER24 said.

“The vehicle that had struck the man was parked a short distance away. Paramedics assessed the man and found he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene.”

The driver of the vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
