Birchleigh siblings will be buried on Friday

New information about the other driver comes to light

THE Birchleigh brother and sister who died in an accident on Atlas Road over the weekend will be buried on Friday.

According to Juan van Niekerk the service will take place at Maranatha Community Church on Dann Road at noon.

Jean-Pierre (8) and Mackayla (3) van Loggerenberg were killed when their family car was involved in an accident near Bass Road in Bonaero Park late Saturday night.

Their mother, Monica, is still in an induced coma in hospital and will not be able to attend the funeral. She still does not know her two older children had died.

Van Niekerk, Monica’s fiancé, on Thursday said their baby girl of eight months, Abigail, was in ICU after developing a lung infection.

In the meantime it has come to light that the driver (32) of the other vehicle was also injured and was still being treated in hospital for internal injuries.
