Stork’s Nest children walk against crime

Barry Ellis said there are numerous criminal activities taking place in the suburbs of Kempton Park

CHILDREN from Storks Nest Creche in Edleen walked the distance of two blocks against crime on July 14.

The youngsters were escorted by ER24 paramedics, AEA Electric Security Systems, CMS from Benoni and Alpha security as they walked from their creche in Flamboyant Avenue and back.

The little ones were escorted by paramedics and private security officers.

Principal Alida Ellis said crime in Edleen is concerning and this was a way for the children to show that they are also concerned and hopefully their concerns will be noted by all policing authorities.

Barry Ellis said there are numerous criminal activities taking place in the suburbs of Kempton Park and it can only be right that everyone who resides in Kempton Park is protected, especially the children.

Learning to speak against crime from an early age.

“All the staff and kids at Storks Nest are proud to be a part of this initiative that’s going to send a message to all criminal activities taking place in the country right now. Our children will be out there in the streets saying no to crime and we are happy and grateful for everyone who came to support this walk,” said Principal Ellis.

Adults escorted the children around the two blocks and took photos of the little ones wearing reflective bibs.
