Children and seniors receive endless gifts on Mandela Day

#MandelaDay celebrated in Tembisa

Gifts for children and senior citizens kept pouring in at Tembisa Child and Family Welfare and Tembisa Old Age Home when companies and community members commemorated Mandela Day.

At the welfare, children were spoilt with wors rolls, drinks and had some fun time while interacting with the visitors.

Visiting Tembisa Child and Family Welfare, Clover Midrand brought food parcels, toys, toiletries and blankets. Home Affairs Kempton Park brought collected clothing, school shoes, sanitary towels and non-perishable food.

MCC Before Dawn brought wors rolls, fruit, drinks, a big cake of Mandela Day and cleaning and laundry detergents. Shell Downstream South Africa donated caps, thermal mugs, beanies and stationery, while BMW Auto Bavaria of Midrand donated 25 blankets and hot dogs among other companies who served 67 Minutes for Mandela Day for the children.

Meanwhile Tembisa Old Age Home received blankets, linen, clothing, food parcels and other items from various organisations, including Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. EMM members also offered their hands and helped clean the home.
