Casa Caritas showered with donations on #MandelaDay
Festival Mall and other companies visited Casa Caritas to spend time with the staff and the intellectually challenged residents
FESTIVAL Mall management, customers and stores joined hands to give more than 67 minutes to Casa Caritas on Mandela Day.
Casa Caritas is a non-profit organisation which caters for adults and children who are intellectually challenged or physically disabled at its home in Van Riebeeck Park.
Festival Mall management ran an awareness campaign at the mall to collect clothing, shoes, toiletries, toys and other non-perishable goods from June 30.
Businesses at the mall, Panarottis, Old Mutual and King Pie extended helping hands when they heard about the campaign.

Festival Mall marketing manager Lee-Anne Leathley thanked everyone who was involved in the collection drive, especially customers who made donations at collection points in the mall.
Alisha Greig, who owns Panarottis at the mall, was happy to help with donations as she had been a regular donor to the home for several years. “We are always very excited to help where we can and it means a lot to be part of this initiative, especially on Mandela Day,” she said.
Casa Caritas CEO Adri Kruger was part of the team that took various guests from numerous companies on a tour of the home and introduced them to the residents.
“I want to thank each and every person and company that came to visit us this Mandela Day. Words cannot fully express my gratitude because what they have done for us here at Casa Caritas means the world to us. We always appreciate businesses and individuals who keep us going with their support,” said Kruger.
