Man stabs friend to death after drunken brawl in Ivory Park

Ivory Park police have already arrested a 24-year old man in connection with the incident just few hours after it was reported.

A drunken argument between two friends ended in tragedy when one of them was fatally stabbed with a screwdriver and died at the scene at Extension Two, Ivory Park on Friday last week.

Ivory Park police have already arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the incident just a few hours after it was reported.

The police’s spokesperson Capt Bernard Matimulane said the suspect was expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face a charge of murder.

“It is alleged that the two have had an argument because the deceased had allegedly insulted the suspect’s wife and when he went to inquire he was allegedly attacked by the deceased and one of his relatives. Both the victim and the suspect are tenants in the same yard and have known each other since they were children in Mozambique,” said Capt Matimulane.

The deceased, who was stabbed once, is also 24 years old.
