She is accused of beating to death her 53-year-old semi-paralysed mother, Refilwe Rebecca Monamodi, at their Glen Marais home on March 5. The deceased’s body was later found floating in the swimming pool.
According to Kempton police spokesperson Capt Jethro Mthsali the re-arrest came as a result of Hillbrow police informing Kempton police that Monamodi was not adhering to her bail conditions.
“The accused was supposed to visit Hillbrow Police Station twice a week where she would sign a document as proof that she was keeping to her bail requirements until her trial was concluded,” Mtshali explained.
“It is alleged the accused failed to sign those documents as requested and as scheduled on several occasions, thereby forcing Hillbrow police to contact us.”
She was rearrested on July 14 and now also face a charge of contempt of court.
