Putting their bodies to the test to raise funds for charity in Kempton Park.

Chibuzo Nwachukwu, coach and chairman of City Rock Friends Club, was proud that city rock members raised R2 100 on their own and another R1 800 was raised at the soccer event.

“These and more funds that will be raised at subsequent friendlies would go a long way to putting smiles on the faces of a lot of less privileged people in Kempton Park this year,” said Nwachukwu.

The club has made constitutional responsibilities to donate groceries, to pray with the residents of charity homes and made generous donations to Casa Caritas last December.

The club was formed in 2012 and registered in 2013 with the aim of assisting members to live responsibly and to aspire to reach greater heights in the business and academic world through fair dealings.

“City Rock Friends Club, situated on Long Street, calls on all clubs in Kempton Park to make it a constitutional responsibility to donate to at least one less privileged home every year,” Nwachukwu said.
