NORKEM Park Police are looking for a man whose picture was taken with a stolen Samsung smartphone and emailed to the victim.
From one of the photos, the police were able to establish that the man was in Jeppe Street in the Johannesburg CBD, Norkem Park police communications officers, W/O Mahlodi Langa said.
The police believe the man in the photograph might be able to assist them in their investigations. The police received the photos from the owner of the smartphone after they were sent to her via email.
Langa said a Van Riebeeck Park husband and wife were travelling home after work on April 6 after 7.30pm when two armed males jumped out of a silver Mercedes-Benz to rob them at their Soutpansberg Drive gate.
“The suspects took the victims’ cash, handbag and cellphones and fled the scene, leaving them without injuries. We urge residents to assist us to find the man in the photo, as he was captured by one of the smartphone devices when he entered an incorrect password several times.”
