Rodel staff buy bras for girls
Local business staff proud to do something for girls in need this month.
THE female staff of Rodel in Glen Erasmia donated cash and a large bag of bras to benefit young girls in need. Dale Carnegie Training Centre employees joined forces with the women of Rodel to make a generous donation to children of Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC).
On August 8, the women convened at the rooftop of Rodel’s business premises to hand over a cheque of an undisclosed amount of money and a large bag with at least 60 bras.
Rodel women were proud to have been able to contribute money to help support the Bra Bazaar campaign led by AKC social funding developer Ricci Boonzaaier.
“We are very proud to be a part of this initiative as women of Rodel and it means a lot to be able to help girls who are in need this Women’s Month. We also challenge other local companies to also go out and either support or start their own initiatives in support of the charity,” said Jenny Erasmus of Rodel.
Boonzaaier explained, “We feel eternally blessed and humbled by such a gracious and generous donation and we want to thank everyone who was involved in this initiative. These bras will benefit the girls at our home in Langlaagte and the surplus will be donated to other homes such as Bermuda 5, which is here in Kempton Park.”
The women explained that bras are important to women and they are a sign that young girls are becoming women so it makes this Women’s Month extra special if girls are given bras that fit their different sizes and shapes and make them comfortable and proud to be young women living in South Africa.
