Man busted with dagga worth R1 000 in Birchleigh North

Police said the suspect was walking comfortably with the bag on Oscar Street

NORKEM Park SAPS arrested a young man when he was spotted, walking nonchalantly, carrying a plastic bag on Oscar Street in Birchleigh North on August 14.

Police spokesperson, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said the 26-year-old suspect was arrested by patrol officers during one of their daily routines at 12.50pm.

The suspect was charged with possession of dagga weighing 165.33 grams with an estimated value of R1 000.

Molokomme is proud to also announce the arrest of 11 other suspects for various crimes between August 11 and 13.

These are the crimes and number of suspects: shoplifting – four, possession of a dagga – one, malicious damage to property – one, driving under the influence of alcohol – two, theft – one and house break-in and theft – two.
