Residents urged to attend ward 104 meeting to find out about wheelie bins

Crime and the new wheelie bins are on the agenda

WARD Clr Tracey Lourenco will host a public meeting for Ward 104 residents on Monday, August 28 (the date published in today’s Kempton Express is wrong).

The meeting will take place at 6pm at Birch Acres Primary School on Sneeubal street.

The ward includes Esther Park, Edleen, Terenure, Kempton Park West, part of Birch Acres and part of Van Riebeeck Park (enclosed area off Bontebok Street).

At the meeting, residents’ concerns regarding various issues of service delivery will be discussed. There will also be a briefing on the roll-out of the new 240 litre wheelie bins in Ward 104 in November.

One of the main concerns to be raised at the meeting will be crime and a petition will be available to be signed in this regard; staffing and resources at the police station; the building of a bigger station and the viability of establishing a satellite police station in the Edleen area.

“I would like to encourage as many residents as possible to attend,” Lourenco said.
