THE family of a Rhodesfield man are desperately trying to find him after he went missing on Thursday morning.

Hendrik ‘Dirkie’ Smit (34) was last seen leaving his home in Rhodesfield ext 1 on Thursday at about 11am.

His cousin, Karien de Lange, says he did not take any of his belongings with him.

“He does not have a cellphone, watch or even a jacket with him. So we are very worried,” De Lange told EXPRESS.

Smit lives with his uncle and aunt, who are De Lange’s parents. He is mentally impaired.

He has blonde hair and blue eyes and has a slender build. He is about 1.65m tall. He was wearing a light grey t-shirt and dark grey sweatpants at the time of his disappearance.
