Miss Ivory Park beauty pageant appeals for sponsorship

Miss Ivory Park Refined is a pageant which focuses on community building and giving back to the community

Miss Ivory Park Refined will be hosting its inaugural beauty pageant with over 35 young women in and around the area showcasing their talent as models.

The beauty pageants will be divided into two categories namely, Miss Teen Ivory Park Refined and Miss Ivory Park Refined.

The competition will be hosted at the Ivory Park North Hall on November 25.

One of the organisers, Genolia Madonsela, said they are appealing to members of the community, business people or any good samaritan to sponsor the event.

“We urge the community of Ivory and the surrounding areas to support and sponsor our very first event so that we can empower these young ladies,” added Madonsela.

Miss Ivory Park Refined is a pageant which focuses on community building and giving back to the community. It seeks to educate and empower young women. It also aims to give them the opportunity to build their self-confidence, self-image and to showcase their talent in the pageant industry.

“As the youth of Ivory Park we have seen a need to educate and empower our peers in the community as we live in a community that is affected by teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, a high rate of crime and school drop-outs. We believe such things are led by lack of support and motivation around the community. We have come up with a solution to resolve those issues,” explains Madonsela.

Madonsela said the beauty pageant will not only teach them to have confidence but keep them off the street and teach them values and the importance of education.

“We believe it is every important to raise girls who will conquer the world and have the ability to stand up for themselves,” she added.

Anyone who is willing to sponsor Miss Ivory Park Refined, can contact Genolia Madonsela on 0718665745, Valencia Mathabela on 0839545481 or Kenneth Mashaba on 0780280346.
