SEPTEMBER 1 has always been the first day when public swimming pools open after winter.
Hot or cold, many would flock to the pool for their first dip of the summer season.
However, this year it is not possible to do so at public swimming pools in Ekurhuleni.
The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to notify residents of a delay in the opening of municipal swimming pools due to the delayed supply of pool cleaning chemicals, Themba Gadebe, metro spokesman, said on Friday, the first day pools should have been open.
“Residents will be notified in due course when all pools will be ready to open. The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience this has caused.”
