A train surfing school boy fell from a moving train and died at the scene on Thursday.
North Cluster communication officer Captain Motsobane Masela said the boy was around 17 years old and his identity was unkown.
“Railway police found the boy dead on their arrival on August 31. What they got from sources at the scene is that the school boy fell off a train while train surfing.
Tembisa South SAPS responded to the scene and alerted experts and forensic pathologists responded to the incident as well,” said Masela.

He said the school boy was wearing grey trousers, white shirt and green jersey. The police could not identify to which school the uniform belonged.
Sources that alerted The Tembisan about the incident said there were about eight surfers who were taken to Tembisa Hospital.
On inquiry Tembisa Hospital’s communications officer, ShirleyMatjila, refuted the allegations.
“We checked the wards for anyone who was admitted from that scene and we also went through the hospital’s records and found no one admitted from a train accident,” she said.
