Young people embark on cleaning campaign

Tembisa residents to clean the streets during heritage month.

By Robert Mangwale

Tembisa residents are planning to remove all filth on the township’s streets at the beginning of September.

Organiser Tshidiso Pule said Boitshepong’s clean-up will take place on September 08 to celebrate heritage month.

“We are planning to include entertainment to attract young people to the event.

The event will also promote visible environmental improvements around the township of Tembisa.

On the day we are going to plant some trees and are also going to offer talented people the opportunity to participate in activities such as sport, arts, music and athletics,” Pule said.

“We therefore extend our invitation to the community to be part of an environmental awareness programme that includes cleaning the streets, cleaning the rehabilitation centre and planting vegetables.”

The co-ordinator of Boitshepong’s clean-up programme, Tshepo Madlala, said their meeting point will be in Moriting Section at corner Freedom and Brian Mazibuko streets.
