Should residents close to Dries Niemandt Park on CR Swart Drive brace themselves for another noisy Saturday?
The venue has been booked for a gospel music festival starting at 10am which has been advertised to continue “until late”.
Residents as far as Esther Park and Van Riebeeck Park were up in arms a week ago following the loud noise from the stadium as a result of another festival. The many complaints sparked ward councillor Tracey Lourenco to draw up a petition.

The Ekurhuleni Gospel Experience at the Park will feature various gospel artists who will perform throughout the day into the night.
According to advertisements the festival is a family oriented lifestyle event with entertainment suited for the whole family. The event features exhibitions, games and live music on stage.
“We are bringing the best South African gospel artists to Ekurhuleni for the event,” the advertisement on TicketPro stated.
Some of the artists who will perform include Dr Tumi, Lebo Sekgobela, Mabongi, Kgaugelo Manamela, Sipho Sheppard and
SSPEL.
The theme of the event is heritage.
No bottles, weapons, gazebos and big umbrellas will be allowed at the venue. Food, soft drinks and alcohol in cans are allowed.
To take in a cooler box or picnic basket costs an extra R50, while the entrance fee for adults is R200. Golden circle tickets cost R250 and VIP tickets R400.
