Emoji weekend at NG Church Kempton Kruin
The aim of the theme was teach the kids how to deal with their different emotions with the help of Jesus Christ
IT was all about emotions emojis and emotions at this year’s children’s weekend at the NG Church Kempton Kruin.
The emojis-themed weekend focused on teaching children about the different emotions human beings experience and how to deal with them in their daily lives.
From September 22 to 24, the weekend was packed with fun and educational activities, including a movie night on Friday when about 400 parents and kids went to Emperors Palace to watch The Emoji Movie.
On Saturday children participated in a games day and played at six game stations. Each activity focused on an emotion including happy, worried, sad, angry, love and pride. Each game focused on a particular Bible story.
On Sunday there was a family church service and 250 balloons, filled with biblical messages, were released into the sky.
The motto of the church is ‘Homes that follow Jesus’ and they wanted every message in those balloons to reach every Kempton home.
To complete the weekend the church had a family braai for everyone.
