A young man trying to steal a motorbike in Edleen, had been arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, said Alpha Security responded to a complaint of attempted theft on Panorama Avenue around midnight.
Molokomme said the owner of the motorbike heard a funny noise outside while in bed. He peeped through the window and saw two suspects opening his gate. He shouted at them while still in the house and called Alpha Security.
“Upon arrival of the security officers, it was found the suspects had already moved the bike. The starter sensor was also damaged. The officers started searching the area and one suspect (20), fitting the description of the owner, was arrested and handed over to the police,” Molokomme said.
The other suspect managed to escape.
