19 Children injured in stampede at primary school in Ivory Park

The patients were treated for their injuries and transported to various hospitals

Nineteen children were injured on Friday afternoon after an apparent stampede at a primary school in Ivory Park.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene to find provincial services already in attendance, Russel Meiring of ER24 said.

Paramedics were led into the school where they found the young children.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered 19 children had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported,” Meiring said.

The patients were treated for their injuries and transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.

The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
